US AIRWAYS TO BUY ENGINES FROM PRATT & WHITNEY  
  US Airways Group Inc. has chosen Pratt & Whitney to supply V2500 engines for up to 153 new Airbus A320 aircraft. The contract, valued at more than $420 million, includes engines for 78 aircraft, not including options. Deliveries are slated to begin next November. US Airways is the busiest carrier at Philadelphia International Airport.

   Pratt & Whitney designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines, space propulsion systems and industrial gas turbines. It is a division of Connecticut-based United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), a diversified company providing technology products and services to the global aerospace and building industries.

   Tempe, Ariz.-based US Airways (NYSE:LCC) has 3,500 flights per day to more than 230 destinations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Caribbean and Latin America.
