EZ PASS MAY BE COMING TO PHL
by KYW's Mike Dunn
It may get just a bit easier to pay for parking at Philadelphia International Airport, as officials explore the idea of bringing EZ Pass to those garage and lot toll booths.
JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Airport currently accept a version of EZ Pass called EZ Pass Plus, which allows you to pay for parking at those airports through the transponder on your windshield.
Here in Philadelphia, Parking Authority executive director Vince Fennerty says that's being looked at:
"EZ Pass Plus is now available, which would be compatible with our equipment. We're going to explore possibly using it."
EZ Pass Plus requires that you replenish your account with a credit card. Fennerty says for the frequent travelerů:
"It would mean that it would be easier getting in and out of Philadelphia International Airport."
Also being explored, says Fennerty, is bringing EZ Pass to the Center City garages run by the Parking Authority.
