PUBLIC CAN COMMENT ON FAA HEARING IN PAULSBORO
PAULSBORO The borough high school here is one of four venues where the public can comment on a Draft Environmental Impact Statement being prepared by the Federal Aviation Administration. The purpose of the statement is to evaluate potential impacts of the Capacity Enhancement Program at the Philadelphia International Airport. The City of Philadelphia, owner and operator of the airport, is proposing the project to enhance airport capacity in order to accommodate current and future aviation demand in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area during all weather conditions.

The Paulsboro hearing is set from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, in the high school's auditorium at 670 N. Delaware Street. Two other hearings are set for Pennsylvania locations and one for Delaware. The draft statement will be available for public review at the end of September.

The FAA advises that this City of Philadelphia proposal should not be confused with the New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia Metropolitan Airspace Redesign Project, which affects aircraft movements in the airspace surrounding the New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. Each meeting will include project posters, a presentation by the FAA and its consultant team, and a time for questions and answers.
