Weather, Construction Cause Long Delays at PHL
August 9, 2007 - Hundreds of people wiled away the hours today onboard airplanes just sitting on the tarmac at Philadelphia International Airport.
Around noon, Action News began receiving calls from stranded passengers at the airport.
Some said they saw as many as 30 planes lined up, but not going anywhere. Some planes were stuck for more than three hours.
Airport officials say the jam up was caused by severe weather out west and construction on one of the runways.
The wet weather here at home certainly didn't help matters either.
