SOUTHWEST AIRLINES WILL CUT ONE PITTSBURGH-TO-PHILADELPHIA FLIGHT
Southwest Airlines Co. is cutting one daily roundtrip flight from Pittsburgh International Airport to Philadelphia effective this fall, the airline announced Thursday.
It will leave the airline with six daily roundtrips between the two cities, effective Nov. 2.
In all, Southwest (NYSE:LUV), which is based in Dallas, will add 40 and slash 31 roundtrip flights nationwide.
The announcement comes just a week after Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato went to Dallas for a meeting with Southwest executives to ask for additional flights at Pittsburgh International.
Once the cut takes effect, Southwest will have 22 flights per day at Pittsburgh International Airport.
