USAir to start daily Athens-Philadelphia service  
  ATHENS, May 7 (Reuters) - US Airways (LCC.N: Quote, Profile , Research) will launch direct daily flights to the Greek capital from its Philadelphia hub starting May 26, Athens International Airport (AIA) said on Monday. A member of Star Alliance, US Airways is the fifth largest airline in the United States. The carrier has added services to Zurich and Brussels in the last 12 months as part of plans to boost Philadelphia as an international gateway.

   US Airways said Boeing 767 aircraft will service the Athens to Philadelphia route until Oct 6. "This new long-haul route is a strategic link for Athens International Airport; giving direct access to new markets of the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean," said Yiannis Paraschis, CEO of Athens International Airport.
