PHL lands Chickie's and Pete's  
  Chickie's and Pete's, whose existing locations are a frequent backdrop for sports-talk shows, will open locations in Terminals A, C and E late this year, according to Marketplace Redwood LP, the Boston company that oversees the airport's retail offerings. "Chickie's and Pete's is Philadelphia's most famous neighborhood crab house and sports bar, and its debut at Philadelphia International Airport will give locals and visitors alike a unique experience and taste of Philadelphia," said Charles Isdell, the city's director of aviation.

   Chickie's and Pete's first restaurant opened in 1977 in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, and is known for its crab fries, which are french fries spiced with Old Bay Seasoning. The chain, owned by Pete Ciarrocchi, still has the flagship location as well as other sites in Northeast Philadelphia, South Philadelphia and, in New Jersey, Bordentown and Egg Harbor.

   The Chickie's and Pete's locations are intertwined with Philadelphia's sports world. It has satellite locations at Lincoln Financial Field, where the Eagles play, and the Wachovia Center, home of the Flyers and 76ers. This spring, the South Philadelphia restaurant, on Packer Avenue, will host live airings of ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" on April 9-10, May 14-15 and May 21-22. The show also airs on ESPN2.
