US Airways announces Phila. to Portland route
US Airways said Monday that it will start offering daily flights between Philadelphia and Portland, Ore., on June 1. US Airways, which is the dominant carrier at Philadelphia International Airport, said the flights will leave Philadelphia at 8:30 p.m. and arrive in Portland at 11:25 p.m. Paciifc time and leave Portland at 10:45 p.m. and arrive in Philadelphia at 6:50 a.m. Eastern time the next day.

   US Airways (NYSE: LCC) of Tempe, Ariz., said the flights will be operated by the portion of the merged company still operating under the America West Airlines name. The former US Airways, which had been in bankruptcy, and America West merged last year, taking the US Airways moniker. The company continues to fly under two Federal Aviation Administration operational certificates. The Philadelphia-to-Portland flights will be on Airbus A320s that will be able to hold 150 passengers: 138 in coach and 12 in first class.
