PLANE MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING AT PHL
PHILADELPHIA — A cracked windshield has forced a commuter jet to make an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Philadelphia International Airport.
Airport spokeswoman Phyllis VanIstendal said officials were notified at 10:14 a.m. Monday about the problem. She said the flight safely landed 10 minutes later and no one was hurt.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said it's not immediately known what caused the crack in the 50-seat commuter jet. He says the incident will be investigated.
Information wasn't immediately available on where the plane was headed.
