Philly-Bound Plane Makes Emergency Landing
  (AP) ALLENTOWN, Pa. (January 4) The pilot of a Philadelphia-bound airplane reported smoke in the cockpit and landed at Lehigh Valley International Airport, officials said. The US Airways flight from Ithaca, N.Y., had 18 passengers and crew members on board, Susan Kittle, an airport spokeswoman, said Wednesday.

   The Dash 8 twin turboprop plane landed safely with fire and ambulance crews standing by, Kittle said. The passengers were booked on other flights to Philadelphia, she said.
